But there is a massive glitch in the app because the app can access all your data without even asking for your permission on the same.
Concerned with the matter, Chuck Schumer, Senate Minority leader has urged the FBI to investigate on the app made by the Russian company in order to transfer faces in the pictures.
Chuck Schumer wrote a letter in which he said that he is worried about how the app can be a risk to the privacy and security of millions of citizens of the US.
All the data in the phone can be accessed and copied by the Russian company and there is no record for how long they can keep the data. There is a possibility that they can store the data for several years.
Providing information to a foreign company can be a threat to both the privacy of the citizens and risk to the country.
Chuck Schumer says it will be toxic if the cybercrime takes place as Russia is powerful when it comes to cyber hostility and he is highly concern that the company may act on the same to take sensitive data out of the phones.
The security issues have been there for various apps but FaceApp gathered a lot of attention.
