Churches in Jersey have worked together to buy schools copies of ‘The Unofficial Bible for Minecrafters – Stories from the Bible told block by block.

The Minecraft-themed bibles were donated by the Religious Education Advisory Council (REAC) to more than 20 schools in the Jersey area, according to the Bailiwick Express report.
The book’s blurb says that the Unofficial Bible for Minecrafters “re-create[s] Bible stories with the famous virtual blocks to produce vibrant, and complex 3-D worlds filled with adventure and using astonishing imagination.”
Reverend Beverly Sproats of St. John’s Parish Church also said that the church contributed 30 copies to the local school as it made stories more ‘accessible’ to kids.
The Minecraft-themed books is actually part of a series, including oter titles such as Heroes and Villains, Life of Jesus, A Children’s Guide to the Old and New Testament, and The Story of Moses. All of which retell stories in Minecraft theme.

However, some social media users dislike the idea.
Simon Clayton wrote: “Religion should be banned to all under 18 years old. Anything else in this world that killed millions of people and caused war would have the same restrictions.”
Marty Murray said: “Is it just me or does this look like another way for the church to groom youngsters?”
Jason McCann added: “We are in a very strange period of time.”
