Pathway Church partnered with RIP Medical Debt paid off $2.2 million medical debt for 1,600 families.
Before Easter, more than 1,000 people in the state of Kansas received a mail that read, “We’re Pathway Church. We may never meet you, but as an act of kindness in the name of Jesus Christ, your debt has been forgiven.”
RIP Medical Debt is a non-profit that pays off medical debt for every penny donated to RIP.
RIP has paid off over $676 million dollars in debt for families. With the help of RIP Medical Debt, Pathway Church pledged to help those who are in need.
Dr. John Carter, the Lead Pastor at Pathway, shared a Facebook post on Easter informing $2.2 million debt has been paid off for 1,600 families.
The post read: ‘This Easter, we sent a special piece of mail to all 1,600 Kansans who fell into a hardship category determined by RIP Medical Debt. We let them know that in Jesus’ name, their medical debt had been forgiven.’
‘Jesus did the same thing on the cross when He declared “it is finished.” The debt of our sins, that we could not pay, had been forgiven! Tetelestai. It is finished. Paid in full. #EasterAtPathway’
Dr.
Carter said in a video: “I want you to imagine for a moment what those 1,600 people felt like when this last week when they got that letter in the mail.
What was going in those houses when they got that letter in the mail and all of a sudden they realized that their debt, this debt that had been hanging over their head had been forgiven.”
“That’s exactly what God and the person of Jesus Christ want you to feel each and every day. Your debt has been forgiven.”
