Talent is born, not made, and 5-year-old Claire Crosby proved it right who become a singing internet sensation.
Recently, Claire released a video performing the Christmas classic, “The First Noel” alongside her musical partner, her doting dad. While Claire and her dad’s musical abilities are nothing short of breathtaking, it was Mom’s debut that left internet fans stunned.
In March of this year, MormonMusic.org introduced 3-year-old Claire Ryann Crosby from Utah to our audience when we featured the video of her singing one of her favorite hymns, Gethsemane by Roger and Melanie Hoffman. Her beautiful rendition of the song exemplifies the pure, sweet, tender testimony of the Savior coming from the heart of an innocent child. As of mid-May 2016, her YouTube video has garnered over 2.6 million views.
However, Claire had become a favorite of listeners and a YouTube sensation a few months before her Easter video release.
Claire has been singing (on pitch!) since she was about one year old. Her parents, Dave and Ashley, originally thought it was a cute phrase, but quickly realized their daughter’s raw talent and began filming her little performances.
When she was 3 years old, Claire’s parents posted a video of the toddler singing “Part of Your World” from the Little Mermaid and it racked up over 100 million views! Since then, Claire and her dad have teamed up to perform on Little Big Shots with Steve Harvey, The Ellen DeGeneres Show (four times, no big deal), and even alongside real-life Disney Princesses.
Claire and her dad have always been the center of the show. So it’s no surprise that Claire’s Christmas music video features her and her dad sitting in front of the fire as she belts out one of the toughest holiday tunes out there.
As expected of the little musical genius, Claire nails every note and even adds in some dramatic facial expressions to really bring the performance home. But no one expected Ashley to accompany the duo on the piano.
Even more shocking, Ashley beings to sing along with her husband and daughter, and her voice is gorgeous!
Clearly, talent runs in the family! One person said, “Ashley! Why have you been hiding that talent? That was beautiful.” Another added, “I didn’t realize that Ashley has a pretty voice,” before requesting more three-part harmonies in the future.
We can’t wait to see what this talented family puts out next!
