Audrina Hatton-Wright, from Derby, was diagnosed with high-risk neuroblastoma – a rare and aggressive form of cancer in 2018.

She spent most of her time in the hospital and even spent her birthday there.

She went through 14 rounds of radiotherapy and after eight months, she finally celebrated the end of the treatment by ringing the bell at Nottingham Radiotherapy Centre dressed as a Stormtrooper.

The staff at the hospital also celebrated with her.

Her mother, Gemma Gould, said: “It was all her idea. She’s seen all the movies and has all the Star Wars Build-A-Bears. I am incredibly proud. She’s been brilliant, she’s always full of beans. It’s been a long haul but she’s kept us both going.”

However, the family is still worried for the little girl as the chances of relapse with neuroblastoma is more than 50% and if does relapse, the chances of her survival are less.

Audrina’s family has started a GoFundMe page to raise £200,000 for special treatment in the US to prevent a relapse.

The GoFundMe page reads: ‘We are fundraising for specialist treatment in the US that helps prevent relapse called DFMO. DFMO has already saved hundreds of children’s lives by preventing recurrent disease. It works differently to all the other treatment Audrina will receive and we are confident will be an effective barrier against relapse.’

‘It is imperative Audrina receives this treatment to ensure her cancer does not return and she can finally get back to living a normal life and enjoying her childhood.’

The family is trying to raise £200,000 as early as possible so they can start Audrina’s treatment. The GoFundMe page has raised £136,771 so far.
