Dorinda Medley’s Cruel Joke On Colleague’s Fertility May Be Why She Was Fired From RHONY

If there is one thing that everyone who drinks responsibly can attest to, it’s that one should always watch out what comes out of one’s mouth when they drink alcohol.

No one must have told this to Dorinda Medley, famous for her role in “The Real Housewives of New York”.

Fans of the TV show have been confused as to why the familiar face was released from the RHONY, a show that Medley had appeared for 6 seasons. The initial analysis was that Medley became mean and hurtful when she became drunk, and was thus fired.

That analysis turned out to be mostly true. According to Page Six and other media sources, Medley was fired after she made a crude joke to Tinsley Mortimer, her colleague on the popular TV show.

When Mortimer told everyone that she was leaving New York to Chicago to live with her fiancee, Medley crudely remarked that she had a turkey-baster that she was willing to lend to Mortimer if she needed help getting pregnant.

While it is said that Medley was having a big laugh with her joke, the supposed joke was perceived as an attack to Mortimer. Previously, Mortimer had been open with the difficulties that she has had with getting pregnant, deciding to freeze her eggs in 2018.

While Mortimer simply told Medley that she was being mean and hateful, the latter’s comment enraged someone more important – comedian Andy Cohen, who leads Bravo and executively produces RHONY.

Cohen’s journey to becoming a father was as difficult and tumultuous as Mortimer’s journey to motherhood. The 52 year old welcomed his first child into the world just last year through a surrogate mother. Thus, it is no surprise that he found no humor in Medley’s snark comments on fertility.

Fans of the TV show also agreed with Cohen, many of whom expressed their disgust and anger towards Medley via their social media posts. One user said woman should be supporting, not making fun of, other woman while another asked if Medley could have said that to her own daughter.

The veracity of this story is still being checked, as Cohen left a comment on Instagram that said “This is not true” without being specific about which aspect.
