Colin Kaepernick Celebrated His Birthday By Feeding The Homeless In Oakland


Colin Kaepernick has celebrated his 32nd birthday by feeding the homeless in Oakland.

The founder of Know Your Rights Camp spent all day in supplying food and other items of need to the homeless.

Colin who has been fighting against police brutality for the last three years turned 32 on November 3.

His birthday celebration was no doubt the most unusual one as he went to a homeless encampment, situated in Oakland, Bay Area, to provide basic needs to the homeless.

According to a report by KPIX-TV, the former San Francisco 49ers quarterback distributed bags stuffed with food items, clothes, air masks and other things of daily use.

The player was also surprised by the local community when a group presented him with a birthday cake while singing ‘Happy Birthday’ in Stevie Wonder’s style.

It isn’t the first time Colin is found active in welfare work.

Last week, Colin supplied a food truck to an emergency crew fighting dreadful California wildfires so they could have free food.

Colin hasn’t been a part of the National Football League for the past three years, more specifically since March 2017, when he decided to be an activist rather than an athlete.

Three years ago, the athlete founded a welfare trust, named Colin Kaepernick Foundation.

His trust, according to its website, aims to “advance the liberation and well-being of Black and Brown communities through education, self-empowerment, mass-mobilization.”

On August 14 this year, Colin marked the anniversary of his three-year effort as he shared a video on Twitter showing people whose family members were the unfortunate victims of police brutality.

He wrote in the caption: “Today marks the three year anniversary of the first time I protested systemic oppression.

“I continue to work and stand with the people in our fight for liberation, despite those who are trying to erase the movement!”
