BREAKING: Former US Secretary Of State Colin Powell Dies At 84


The former US Secretary of State, Colin Powell has died with the tragic news being recently confirmed by his family members.

According to recent media reports, Powell passed away from complications relating to the COVID-19 infection. Now, he is survived by his wife, two daughters, and a son who is a DC-based lobbyist.

For those who may not be aware, the former US Secretary of State was a recipient of so many military and civilian awards. Moreover, he even went about earning the title for saving a number of fellow soldiers from a devastatingly tragic helicopter crash too.

Colin Powell’s career at the White House began in the year 1972 and that’s when he reportedly began a new Fellowship under former President Richard Nixon.

Simiarly, he was a man who served a number of Democratic as well as Republican administrative roles too, being deeply engaged in his duties across the board, while also working as a senior adviser for the country.

Colin Powell was born in Harlem but his diverse background made him unique in every sense. And that includes his Jamaican roots as his father was from Jamaica. Powell earned the title for being the country’s first-ever Black Secretary of State.

Powell was born on the 5th of April in 1937 and spent his entire youth being educated at New York City’s public schooling system, and that’s when a career in the military attracted his attention.
