A college dropout who was told he wouldn’t find a job with just four GCSEs proved everyone wrong after becoming a millionaire.
About six years ago, Luke Blackburn from Brough, East Yorkshire quit studying, he secured an apprenticeship with an IT firm and learnt about Forex buying and selling on YouTube. He took out a £1,000($1,200) mortgage and commenced to trade whereas additionally working full time.
The 23-year-old now owns three homes and enjoys a luxurious lifestyle, after gathering a fortune buying and selling on the international change market. He has expensive sports cars and designer watches and goes on holiday six times a year.
He said: “I’m a working-class guy from Hull. I’m a pretty down-to-earth person, I’ve come from a normal family with normal jobs. I’ve worked hard and as far as I’m concerned I can spend my money on whatever I like. I never wanted to worry about paying for anything.”
“My parents worked very hard and gave us whatever we needed. My mom always said ‘you need to do well’ and definitely instilled a strong work ethic in me.”
He left the IT apprenticeship as he said it was ‘too much to balance trading and a full-time job.’
He added: “My parents thought I was mad to leave but I told them I would make a success of it.”
Luke was asked how much he’s worth, he replied: “It’s a difficult question to answer but once you add all of my assets up I’m worth about one million.
Despite the money though the goal was never to become a millionaire.
I just want to be stress-free and comfortable. I don’t want to worry about bills or anything like that. ”“I can work wherever and whenever I want to. I don’t need an office. All I need is a laptop and an internet connection.”
“It’s great when things are going well but the crucial thing is how you react when things aren’t going the way you planned. Don’t rush, don’t try and have a specific goal, just let it flow and don’t put stress on yourself, don’t take it too seriously.
“If it happens, it happens. If it doesn’t, it doesn’t.
