The brother-in-law of the Colorado shooter has spoken out to share previously unknown details about the killer’s private life.
Following the deadly mass shooting at a supermarket in Boulder, Colorado, the authorities have arrested 21-year-old Ahmad Alissa and confirmed he is facing ten counts of first-degree murder.
As it was previously made known, Ahmad is a Syrian-American who arrived in the States at the age of three after his family left Syria. He was reportedly a victim of bullying after starting high school, prompting him to become very paranoid and anti-social.
Now, the shooter’s brother-in-law spoke out and revealed more concerning details from Ahmad’s life. As Usame Almusa insisted in an interview with The Sun, his BIL is known for “being stupid” and being a loner with no girlfriend and friends.
“He was a loner, just sitting to the side, not with us. It was strange. He lived with his family and lived in the basement at their home,” Almusa revealed.
“He has a reputation for being stupid, not smart. He was not like a proper Muslim, I don’t know what kind of Muslim he was. He did not go to the mosque I go to.”
The half-brother also claimed Ahmad didn’t have many friends and never had a girlfriend. “He works with his family, his brothers, at their restaurant. There was never a girlfriend and not many friends,” Almusa said.
Following the gunman’s arrest, it came to light that people with knowledge of the young man branded him as “paranoid,” “violent,” and “anti-social.”
As the brother-in-law insisted, the entire family can’t stop crying because they have been left shaken by the incident.
“I do not know what happened with this guy to make him do this. We just don’t know what made him go so crazy. I wish we knew. This is terrible for the family, for the victims, for America. His father has almost died from the crying,” Almusa added. “His mother, Hadija, his sisters, my wife, his brothers, are all crying.”
