An angry vegan has gone viral after taking her neighbors to court in order to stop them from barbecuing in their backyards.
Cilla Carden, who works as a massage therapist, is a proud vegan from Girrawheen, Perth, Australia, who took her neighbors to court because they grilled meat in their backyard.
According to Carden, she can’t enjoy her free time outdoors because there’s always a strong smell of meat which bothers her. As the upset vegan added, her neighbor Toan Vu and his family also smoke and throw basketballs at their shared barrier.
Besides demanding that the family stops barbecuing on their own land, Carden also demanded they repaint the shared fence and get rid of weeds growing in their own yard.
Following her court appeal, the judge dismissed Carden’s claims in favor of the Vu family. She was later once again turned down after appealing to the Supreme Court.
Nevertheless, the determined vegan, who appeared in front of the camera wearing animal-print top and leather skirt, vowed to keep on fighting.

Following the legal dispute going viral, Carden received a huge backlash on social media with one user going as far as organizing an event called ‘Community BBQ for Cilla Carden’ which is supposed to take place at her home.
In a matter of days, over 2,000 people confirmed that they would be attending the event, causing Carden to request her lawyer to go after the person who started it.
“Don’t let Cilla destroy a good old Aussie tradition, join us for a community BBQ and help Cilla Carden GET SOME PORK ON HER FORK,” the event description reads.
After the news of the event went viral, John Hammond, Carden’s lawyer, spoke out and said:
“Ms Carden has no objection to meat-eaters and has no objection to anyone having barbeques. She believes barbecues are part of the Australian way of life.
“Any person who seeks to attend Ms. Carden’s property on Saturday, October 19, 2019, or at any other time in relation to this event or matter will be referred to the WA police on the grounds of trespass.
“Security cameras will be installed to obtain vision of any person attending the property and the vision will be provided to the police.”
