How many times have you given your seat to some elderly or a pregnant woman while commuting? It is something that we are taught while growing up.
It is the good manners, something that makes us more human. But there are some people with a certain level of ‘attitude’ who don’t care about the rest of the world.
This is the reason why Blogger Anna Whitehouse conducted a social experiment in the London Underground where she wore a fake baby bump to see how many commuters would give up their seats for a pregnant woman – the results might shock you!

She wanted to see the attitude of the Brits’ towards pregnant women. Only four out of ten passengers willingly gave their seat to Anna while the fifth one agreed only after Anna asked him directly.
Anna, who is a mother in real life, was shocked to see the attitude of the commuters and she also admitted that she felt like a burden on her fellow commuters.
It is true that technology has connected the world but disconnected people. She said that people are not connected to what’s going on around them; they are just doing their chores like a robot.
After the experiment was concluded, it was found out that six out of ten passengers would give up their seat to a pregnant woman.
Moreover, a recent study of 2000 regular commuters also found out that one in four passengers hadn’t given up their seat for an expectant mother. The study also found out that most of the adults didn’t give up their seats until it women are visibly shown that they are pregnant.
Well, what are your thoughts on that?
