UFC fighter Conor McGregor has been widely slammed on social media after posting a racist comment in which he called Khabib Nurmagomedov’s wife a “towel.
”
Sharing a picture of Nurmagomedov and his newly-found wife, Conor wrote: “Your wife is a towel mate.”
After bashing the rival’s wife, his post soon went viral and people condemned the MMA star, who recently announced that he’s retiring, and made him delete his “racist” and “Islamophobic” tweet.
“You’re a racist scumbag for calling Khabib’s wife a towel. You may have deleted the tweet but it’s too late. I pray for your own good you never cross paths with him or it’s game over for you, this time possibly for good ‘mate.’ Actions have consequences,” one upset social media user wrote.
“#ConorMcGregor is a massive racist. Though we knew he was already, he has just stepped it up a gear. We know full well what happens when that kind of language is normalized,” another one added.
One person said: “Nothing worse than seeing someone you idolized show their true colors a racist c**t. @TheNotoriousMMA stay retired.”
Speaking of his retirement in one of his recent tweets, the MMA star wrote:
“Hey guys quick announcement, I’ve decided to retire from the sport formally known as ‘Mixed Martial Art’ today. I wish all my old colleagues well going forward in the competition.
“I now join my former partners on this venture, already in retirement. Proper Pina Coladas on me fellas!”
Since it’s not the first time McGregor teased the sports lovers with his retirement, however, many fans suggested that he’ll be just like Floyd Mayweather who simply couldn’t resist coming out of retirement.
One of the disbelievers is also Nurmagomedov himself who claimed that Conor is just like a “jealous wife” who isn’t able to stay away.
“I don’t think he’s finished,” Khabib said. “Conor acts like a jealous wife who says ‘I will leave’ all the time but then comes back.”
