Child marriage is forbidden in many countries but still practiced.
Recently a shocking footage went viral where an 8-year-old girl married a 10-year-old boy in the controversial ‘gypsy’ wedding ceremony.

The wedding took place in the city of Craiova, Romania where singer Alex de la Caracal also performed to a room full of guests.
The bride, 8, was seen surrounded by women who apparently helped her put on an oversized gown and provided finishing touches to her makeup.

The girl seemed a little shy as she brushed her curls with her hands and pulled at her dress while the guests clapped along with the music. They wanted to see the girl in her complete bridal attire; hence, they waited eagerly.
Alex, during his performance, pointed at the boy – the groom and told him to leave his toys aside; he has married his bride.
Once the bride was done with her gown, she stood on a stool in a room filled with guests and provided a good view of the completed gown.
Child marriage is illegal in most countries including Romania. Dorin Cioaba, a Roma community leader, had said years ago that the gypsies who marrie their minors would be sent to jail.
However, neither the Romanian authorities nor the gypsy community has reacted on the incident.
On the other hand, Don Vochin, a social media user, said that the ceremony was nothing but a gypsy ritual where two children agree that they will marry each other once they grow up. It was not a real wedding.
He said that the official wedding takes place when the bride and groom reach a certain age.
This is not the first time such type of incident has happened. In 2011, children aged seven and eight had a wedding that grabbed the attention of the police. However, no action was taken, as the wedding was not registered at the town hall.
