In South Australia, a bunch of kids went to an aged care facility and after coming back, an 8-month-old child was diagnosed with coronavirus.
All the other kids are yet to be tested. Some of the residents and staff of the facility were said to be having the virus.
The kids were in Banksia Cottage childcare center in north-west Sydney. They visited the BaptistCare Aged Care facility, which is in Macquarie Park, on February 24 for an excursion.
The facility reported four different cases of coronavirus, including residents and staffs.
The mother of the diagnosed kid is an Iranian woman, and she flew back from Iran this week only. With this case, the count of infected people has reached 57 in the country.
On Thursday, a clinic will be set up for the testing of the remaining kids. Parents of the kids are concerned and said that they will be monitoring their kids for any visible symptoms. Parents, whose kids were not on the excursion, also want to get their kids tested.
As 6 out of 57 cases of coronavirus in Australia are from Macquarie Park, it has been declared as the epicenter of the virus.
More than 10,000 residents of Australia have been tested for the virus after the first person was diagnosed in January, as confirmed by Prime Minister Scott Morrison. While thousands of people chose to go for self-isolation after they returned from their international trips.
In Adelaide, a 58-year-old man and has been diagnosed. Another woman in West Australia tested positive. She landed there from the UK via Dubai. Northern Territory diagnosed its first victim on Wednesday.
Prime Minister also announced a travel ban to South Korea and back from there. This will be implemented from Thursday, 9 PM.
A total of 95,180 people have been infected by the virus in 84 countries, out of which more than 3 thousand have died.
