The number of coronavirus deaths has exceeded the number of deaths of the SARS epidemic in 2003.
The deadly coronavirus, which emerged in December, has killed more than 800 people and infected more than 30,000 people.
In 2003, 774 people were killed by Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome, known as SARS in more than 24 countries.
More than a dozen drug-makers are working to find a vaccine or a treatment for the virus that continues to spread across the world but currently, there are no effective drugs for the virus.
China’s ambassador to Britain described the deadly coronavirus as “the enemy of mankind” in a BBC interview. However, he also said that the virus is “ controllable, preventable, and curable”.
Liu Xiaoming said: “At this moment is very difficult to predict when we are going to have an inflection point. We certainly hope it will come soon, but the isolation and quarantine measures have been very effective.”
On Friday, the doctor, who was one of the first ones to warn the world about the deadly coronavirus, died from the virus.
34-year-old Li Wenliang, an ophthalmologist at a hospital in Wuhan, and seven others were accused of spreading “illegal and false” information about the coronavirus and were detained.
In December, the coronavirus originated in the central city of Wuhan in China and several cities were placed under lockdown in order to prevent the spread of the virus.
But after an extended Lunar New Year break, authorities announced that millions of Chinese will now be preparing to go back to work.
However, a large number of schools will remain closed until March 1.
Chinese are not happy and asked on social media why are they going back to work? They said they can’t purchase a mask anywhere and the virus continues to spread. The number of death is still rising.
However, it is reported that employees will be asked to work from home.
