Costco is now selling single-serving Panera mac & cheese in microwaveable cups.
According to the label of the product, these mac & cheese containers feature “tender shell pasta perfectly nestled” in Panera’s “signature blend of creamy cheese sauce and tangy Vermont white cheddar cheese.”
It comes with four 10-oz. packages for only $9.99 at Costco locations in the Northeast, Midwest, and Northwest, and it will be carried out nationwide starting May 25, 2020. All you need to do is remove the lid and film then microwave the cup for 2-3 minutes while stirring halfway through.
Social media users were quick to show their opinions under the comment section of @CostcoGuy4U’s post as one wrote, “Oh yikes 600 per serving!!!?”
While another clarified, “According to the website, it’s 500 cals per serving.. which isn’t far off from the restaurant version. It’s decadent stuff. :P”
Recently, Costco announced they were requiring a yearly membership for anyone who visits their foodcourt.
They say, “Effective March 16, 2020, an active Costco membership card will be required to purchase items from our food court.
You can join today. Please see our membership counter for details. ” The Instagram account, Costcodeals, has confirmed that this is indeed going to be a thing.“May still vary per store and roll out date may vary as well.
”Twitter users quickly showed their anger, shock, and humor after the announcement. One wrote, ‘’Nothing makes me feel more solidly middle class than my Costco membership.’’
Another added: ‘’So you’re telling me I’m gonna have to buy a Costco membership just to get a slice of pizza. Ok.’’
One said: ‘’@Costco requiring membership for hot dogs and pizza? What a disappointment. A lot of people can’t afford a membership and rely on your (not healthy) food to get by. What a cash grab.’’
