There have been plenty of issues around the world due to the Covid-19 outbreak.
Many councils have also scaled back their bin collection. They have asked the people to take their waste to the dump as the lorries will not be coming.
The Cambridge City Council announced that the waste collection would be suspended from Monday till May 4 and people would have to take their rubbish to the waste dumping area.
The suspension of the waste collection drive will allow the employees to empty the blue and black bins from the sumps.
The officials also added that it would help in assisting the staff sickness and self-isolation issues. Other local councils have stopped the waste collection services to tame down the spread of Covid 19.
Covid 19 has affected around 3269 and killed 145 people in the UK. It has alarmed the government to take necessary actions to stop the virus from spreading.
According to Derby City Council, the pandemic will also affect the recycling and waste collection in the further weeks. Councils are encouraging people to store the waste safely in their houses for 72 hours before dumping it.
It will help in lowering the risk of the virus from being spreading. The Brighton and Hove Council is asking people who have vehicles to help who are not able to dump their waste.
Though the move of suspending the waste collection services has infuriated some residents, it is meant to enhance the situation and control the virus spread.
Councils said that Coronavirus had created an alarming situation for all sorts of public health concerns.
They are urging people to understand the severity of the situation and cooperate with the council’s decision regarding the waste collection. There’s no doubt that Coronavirus is taking a toll over people’s lives; it becomes essential to take little steps to do our part.
