A couple was stunned when they were confronted by airport security only to find out that they have accidentally packed their cat into their carry-on luggage.

Voirrey and Nick Coole were about to take a flight to New York when the security staff suddenly took them into a room for questioning.

As the couple soon found out, the agents pulled them aside because they accidentally packed their pet inside the suitcase.

“Our hand luggage didn’t have much in so we could bring shopping home. But Candy, our cat, found a way in and off to the airport we all went,” the man recalled in an interview with Manchester Evening News.

“Airport security were all very puzzled and repeatedly asked if the bag was ours after it had been through the scanner.”

As Nick explained, the couple was traveling from the Isle of Man to New York for vacation purposes.

In his viral Facebook post, Nick added:

“You know that feeling, when you get ushered into a side room at airport security because you’ve got a cat in your hand luggage?

“Candy decided to sneak into our hand bag, thanks Barry and Lorna for picking her up so we can head off on our holiday. Fair play to airport security for helping to get her home so we could catch our flight.”

Despite the inconvenience, the couple praised the airport security for handling the issue in a respectful manner and giving them a chance to explain themselves before jumping to conclusions.

Fortunately, they were able to get on with their flight and get a well-deserved vacation (on top of a story that they will never forget).
