Couple Gave Their Daughter A ‘Unique’ Name, 2 Years Later Wife Realized Her Husband TRICKED Her


Choosing a name for your little bundle of joy can be one of the most difficult decisions parents have to make.

With thousands of names to choose from, many expectant moms and dads want to make sure their baby’s name is unique but lovely at the same time.

When these parents from New South Wales, Australia, talked about unique names they wanted for their daughter, the husband surprised his wife with a beautiful suggestion.

Mom Clare Smith gushed over their baby’s name in a letter to the Take 5 magazine and said: “We chose our daughter’s name, Lanesra, because it was unique and romantic.”

“It wasn’t until she was two that my husband told me it was actually his favorite soccer team, Arsenal, spelled backwards!”

The magazine clipping was later shared on Reddit where it quickly went viral, receiving more than two million views and hundreds of comments from parents and football fans.

People were impressed at the sneaky dad’s manipulation and his ability to keep it a secret from his wife for two long years!

Many football fans also shared similar stories and it turned out that some of them had also tricked their partners with the same ‘unique’ name.

One mom from Spain revealed that she managed to convince her husband to name their daughter Lanesra, claiming it originated from ‘her Spanish side’ and that he fell for it!

Fortunately, Arsenal spelled backwards makes a unique and beautiful name.

Another wrote: “My wife is Pregnant right now… 3 months, that gives me 6 months to ruse this up.”

A third added: “What a legend!”
