A couple has tragically passed away in a house fire alongside their young daughter.
The heartbreaking incident took place in Devon, UK, where Daniel and Kaylie Rudge, aged 29 and 28, found themselves trapped in a burning home when a fire erupted at their house.
While the cause of the fire remains under investigation, the police have suggested the case is not being treated as suspicious as they confirmed they aren’t looking for anyone in connection to the fire.
According to the reports, both Daniel and Kaylie died alongside their four-year-old daughter. Meanwhile, the couple’s three other children, aged 4, 7, and 9, remain in hospital.
Following the devastating incident, friends of the family launched a fundraiser to raise money for Kaylie and Daniel’s surviving children.
“Daniel’s sister is our good friend and neighbor and we used to socialize a few times a week with Daniel and Kaylie,” Lauren England, a family friend, expressed in a tribute to the couple and their four-year-old daughter.
“We are absolutely devastated and heartbroken not only to lose friends, but to help his sister and family get through this awful time.
“They were such funny, caring and loving individuals, amazing parents to their four beautiful babies. They were always there when we needed them the most without any hesitation, they were at our door within minutes, always thinking about everyone else but themselves.”
As the family friend added, the couple will surely be missed in their community.
“They will be truly missed and Exeter has gained a huge hole in its heart as they were very popular among the community,” Lauren expressed.
“We hope their souls are at peace and their babies they’ve left behind will be very well taken care of and will never go without love and care from us all.”
While tributes to the family are flowing in, Devon Police Chief Superintendent Daniel Evans confirmed that the fire is under investigation.
“We are working closely with specialist scene investigators to help us understand how this tragic incident could have occurred, but currently there is nothing to indicate any third-party involvement in this matter and therefore we are not seeking anyone in connection to this fire at this time,” he said.
