An elderly couple drove hundreds of miles to make twin 4-year-old girls’ dreams come true after they found their wish list tied to balloons.

Gianella and Luna Gonzales from Kansas attached their simple requests for Santa Claus to pink balloons and sent them away to the sky in December last year.

But instead of flying to the North Pole, Luna’s balloon went south and landed somewhere in Louisiana, where Alvin Bamberg found it during a hunting trip.

Speaking to CNN, Bamburg said: “I saw that balloon and God spoke to me. You need to get this, and, second of all, you need to get the trash out of the woods.

“When I got it I noticed a folded yellow piece of paper sealed with a red star, and it was a Christmas list from a girl named Luna.”

Bamburg and his wife Lee Ann decided to find Luna and make sure she got what she wished for.

Bamburg took to Facebook and asked for friends to help find the girl, writing: “Would love to know when it was launched. Looks like it traveled over 600 miles. Feel free to share.”

His post quickly went viral and reached Gianella and Luna’s mother, Leticia Flores-Gonzales.

“When we found out someone actually found Luna’s balloon, we were just in shock,” Flores-Gonzalez told CNN. “We couldn’t believe how kind people were; we were overwhelmed with love. That’s what really mattered.”

Luna’s wish list, written by her mother but signed by her, asked for a Frozen doll, candy, a My Little Pony, a Spiderman ball, and a puppy, while Gianella’s list requested some flowers, earrings, a My Little Pony, stickers, and Santa candy.

The Bamburgs then drove six hours to meet the adorable twins in mid-April and brought the final item on Luna’s list: a dachshund puppy!

“We had texted, talked, and FaceTimed before we even met, and it was clear we had a connection. When we met, it was just like meeting family,” Bamburg said.

Flores-Gonzales added: “To us, it isn’t the amount of gifts or the value that the girls are receiving. It’s the love they received. It meant the world to us we see their smiles, and the lifelong friendship we have made with Alvin and his wife.”
