A 49-year-old Florida waitress received a $2,000 tip on Christmas Eve from a couple after they learned she was experiencing a financial crisis.
Lynette Baio has been working at the Speggtacular restaurant in Clearwater for the past five years.
Her husband died two years ago and Lynette now looks after the family.
Lynette was left with no money for Christmas after she had to spend her $2,000 savings on a car repair.
While talking to two of her regular customers a few weeks ago, Lynette mentioned that she had no money to buy Christmas presents for her family.
The couple visited the restaurant again on Christmas Eve and this time, they left a $2,000 tip for Lynette who was left shocked.
They left a check and also a message that read: ‘Merry Christmas and restore your savings. God bless you.’
Lynette told WTVT: “They started to walk out and I picked it up and I was like, “What?” and I started crying and he started crying and she starting crying and it was just totally amazing. It’s a Christmas miracle to me.”
“I had no idea like who would have thought anybody would do that for me. If they only knew how much they help me emotionally. I just want to thank them.”
Because of the kind-hearted couple, Lynette could buy Christmas gifts for her family. She said it could take her about six weeks to make $2,000 in tips.
She said that she is grateful to the couple and will pay it forward someday when God bless her enough.
“I’m gonna honor their words and I’m going to pay it forward someday and I’m going to let God bless me enough to do it.”
