A couple bought a one-way ticket out of the UK and headed to Bali with their two-year-old twins amid coronavirus outbreak.
Corinne and Dave Pruden wanted to protect their twin boys from coronavirus so they decided to spend lockdown in Bali and took one of the last flights out of the UK.
On March 16, they flew from London to Denpasar and are now living in an Airbnb bamboo hut in Bali.
Mrs. Pruden told Sky News: “The other people taking flights were returning home and we felt sort of courageous but perhaps being a little bit stupid or naive – it was quite hard to pigeonhole our actions and emotions and it was quite stressful.”
After she came to know about the situation in the UK through her 72-year-old mother who is in isolation for three weeks, she felt lucky they could leave the UK in time.
The couple, who has been living in Budapest for five years and owns a coffee shop, left Budapest due to coronavirus crisis and decided to go to the UK to meet their parents.
But, they didn’t feel safe there as well and wanted to protect their children from coronavirus.
Mrs. Pruden said: “So we thought, we’re at our parents’ in the UK which is a safe, nice environment, we could return to Budapest where we’re healthcare covered, but there was something about us that thought ‘we need to go to a happy place, somewhere that’s good for us and good for the boys.”
The couple then decided to spend their lockdown in Bali and took one of the last flights out of UK.
They are now living in an Airbnb bamboo hut near Ubud and sharing their holiday pictures on their Instagram account – Twintastic Nomads.
