A couple has gone viral after sharing pictures from their wedding complemented by a Marine uniform for the groom, Trump-style wedding dress for the bride, and a bunch of rifle bouquets.
According to Jeff and Audra Johnson from Kalamazoo, Michigan, their MAGA-themed wedding, which took place on Independence Day, was exactly what they wanted.
The colors of the ceremony included white, red, and blue. While the groom wore his Marine uniform he got from serving two tours in Iraq, his bride wore a custom wedding gown that had ‘Make America Great Again’ written all over it.
“It looked like America threw up all over my wedding — and I’m not sorry,” the proud wife shared in an interview with FOX 17.
Following their controversial wedding, the couple shared several photos that divided the opinions of the public.
In one picture, Jeff is seen posing with a rifle while in another his wife is seen holding a large semi-automatic weapon.
According to the couple, the tables at their reception were accompanied with a petition supporting the “fetal heartbeat bills.”
Despite their strong Republican-oriented views, the couple admitted they were inclusive of everyone, including the bride’s maid of honor who is a Democrat.
“It wasn’t a political stunt — it’s legit what we wanted. It wasn’t to make a political statement,” Audra added in an interview with MLive.
“I want people to realize that it was such a diverse group of people that got together that day.
“We were able to understand that we don’t all have to agree to still share love together. I think that’s what people are missing out on.”
