A couple has been shamed online after they asked people who were not invited to their wedding to give them money for their honeymoon.
The bride and groom sent people – not on their guest list for their big day – a note asking for money for their honeymoon.
The couple said to people who were not invited that the only reason behind this is their venue can not accommodate everyone.
They also wrote in the note that people who couldn’t make it to the guest list can send money so they can have a great honeymoon.
The note reads: “As much as we would love for you to attend, sadly, our venue can not accommodate everyone.
We are sure to keep you in our hearts in this celebration of love.”
“If you would like to congratulate the bride and groom, rather than a registry, they are accepting money to aid in a beautiful honeymoon.”
The note was shared on Reddit with the caption: ‘We sent you this card so send us money.’
Hundreds of Redditors started slamming the couple for being so selfish, shameless and greedy.
They wholeheartedly criticized the couple for asking money to people who are not even invited to their wedding.
One user said that everyone is struggling in their life and asking money for the honeymoon is so selfish.
Another said if you can’t afford a wedding then it’s fine but asking money from people who are not even invited is selfish.
One user wrote: ‘Ugh, this is so awful. The thing is, you can still send a nice wedding announcement to people who you weren’t able to invite. Something more akin to a Christmas card.’
‘And IF that person wants to get you a gift they’ll reach out.
But just sending a card straight up saying, we couldn’t invite you but maybe send us some cash anyway is just a travesty.’
The copy of the note is now going viral on the Internet and everyone is slamming the couple for being so selfish.
What do you think about it?
