A piece of interesting news about a couple circulated around the internet, who have taken their children out of school and travelled across the world to teach them how life works.
Andre Baldeo, the 45 years old husband, and Becky, the 44 years old wife, sold their £350,000 ($450,000) home purposefully to take their children on World Tour.
Andre Baldeo is a stock market trader who was realizing from some time that he was not living his life to the full.
“Is it the life I want for my kids, Rico, 12, and Tiana-Mae, 10?” he often used to question himself. Well, things change quickly, and he finally decided with his wife to sell their house and travel across the world with their children. According to Andre, “Working long hours stuck in front of six monitor screens, studying graphs and looking at the news can become very lonely and extremely depressing.”
Andre and Becky decided to pull their kids out of school back in 2016.
This couple travelled for almost 18 months across the world to show their children that there is more to life outside of suburbia.
During their world tour, the spend £65,000 and according to Andre, “I do feel proud to have done it and it is the best £65,000 I have ever spent.
We now have the most amazing memories to keep forever and nothing will change that.”
During their 18 months journey, they travelled to 13 different countries.
The family spent Christmas in Tokyo, hiked the Andes, walked up volcanoes and explored the Amazon forest.
Moreover, this family worked for stints conserving turtles, working on the farms and home-schooling the kids during their journey.
This family initially visited Malaysia and the Philippines and then went on towards Thailand, Vietnam, and Japan.
Christmas was celebrated in Tokyo and over the next few months, they stopped off at Colombia, Ecuador – where they explored the Amazon and trekked the Andes – Peru, and Bolivia. Their last port of call was the Costa Rican capital of San Jose.
Currently, this couple is unemployed and is living in a rented property. Andre and Becky are now looking for new jobs and their children will start back at school in a few weeks.
