So the couple went to developers Allanwater homes they told them that they want a three-bedroom semi-detached house in Alloa Clackmannanshire. Developers agreed on it and they deposited money in 2017 and were supposed to shift to their new home in August 2018.
But the promises were not kept and the couple thought that they will get their dream home on the promised date so in March 2018 they sold their house that was located in Lambert.
Then they shifted to a Caravan in Fishcross Clackmannanshire. They thought that it will only take five months and then they will get a shift into their own home.
They had no idea that they will have to live in a Caravan for a whole year till January 2019. The couple was given false deadlines and they had to suffer.
They were told that just a few more months so the couple took it easy every time and they thought its better to live in Caravan for just a few weeks.
But they were constantly facing a state of disturbance because of these dates given by the construction company.
Mr. Callan works as a senior facilities manager and Irene works as a domestic assistant for the NHS and they have two children so it became difficult for the family to sort things out as they had sold their house and even submitted the deposit so they had no way out.
The company never told about the reasons for the delay and they kept on delaying the dates. They delayed the date for their new house for eight times.
At the end, Mr. Callan decided to send emails to the senior official of the company and he did so. He sent a lot of letters and they admitted that they gave unreasonable dates to their customers. Than their letters were answered and were asked to shift to their home.
But Irene says that the problems still continued as painters and carpenters were there but the company gave them compensation and extra things were added that were approximately around a value of 3,000 pounds.
But the family warns others about the difficulty they had to face and they lived in a Caravan so they admonish others.
