A couple from Michigan has welcomed their 14th child and it’s a boy again.
Kateri and Jay Schwandt, from Rockford, Michigan, welcomed their 14th son on Wednesday, April 18. The couple named him Finley Sheboygan Schwandt.
The baby boy weighed 8 pounds, 4 ounces and the mother and baby are healthy as they had a safe delivery.
Jay said: “We are extremely blessed. He is so happy and healthy.”
Kateri and Jay have now 14 sons but when Kateri got pregnant, the couple decided this will be their final baby.
Everyone in the family was curious to know if Kateri would finally give birth to a girl. The couple also thought they would welcome a girl this time.
“I would love to have a girl, but I just don’t think it’s in the cards,’ Jay told NBC 4 News.
Kateri, who is one of 14 children herself, told TODAY Parents: “For us, it is about the baby, about the miracle of life. It’s not about having a girl”.
The couple has decided they won’t be having any more babies and this was their last baby.
Jay told TODAY: “I have to leave that door cracked open just a little bit because I’ve been reminded that I said after 12 and 13 that we were done. It feels like we’re at the end of the road here.”
“I’m thinking that this is it. It just feels like this is going to be it, and we’re going to enjoy every second of it,” Jay said.
However, the couple also said the same thing when they welcomed their thirteenth baby.
The couple lives in Rockford, Michigan with their fourteen sons. Their eldest son is in his 20s.
