Sometimes people cross their line and cause pain to the animals in the most unpleasant ways.
Dogs are the most amazing creature on this planet, and it’s awful to torture them like this.
Recently, an awful owner left the dog unattended with her six newborn puppies and tied the two-year-old dog to the gate near Elphin, which is a small town in County Roscommon.
The dogs were discovered by a person who was passing by the area. The person immediately called up the police and informed the Irish Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals who take care of such cases.
The family was abandoned just after the dog gave birth to the litter because the eyelids of the babies were still closed.
It is said that the puppies keep their eyelids closed for two weeks after they are born so that their eyes can develop completely.
The dog and the puppies were appropriately examined at the center, and thankfully there were no major health issues though it was cruel of the owner to tie up the dogs without any food and water in such cold weather.
The current cold weather in Ireland could have lead to different outcomes to this situation, but it is fortunate enough that before anything wrong could have happened, the dogs were safely transported to the animal center.
The center named the dog Emmy Lou and the puppies were named as Dixie, Dolly, June, Patsy, Dotty, and Billy Ray.
The IPSCA is looking for a new home for the Emmy just after the next year starts, and they will rehome the litter after they grow a little older.
