A woman from Hudson Valley has claimed that a Taco Bell franchise left a ‘door-knob’ in her nachos.
Eve Saint, from Poughkeepsie, was left shocked when she found the unusual object in her meal that she took from a branch of the fast-food giant in upstate New York.
She snapped a pic of her takeaway which showed the handle lying among the fries, sauce, and cheese, and shared it on her Facebook account.
The post soon went viral on various social media platforms, sparking outrage among Taco Bell customers.
Eve says she had to wait at the outlet’s drive-thru in Fishkill for more than 45 minutes before she drove all the way to her home.
So discovering this extra item inside her meal didn’t make her happy.
She called the franchise but her complaint was ignored, and she was told that it was ‘impossible’ for a door-knob to end up in her meal.
After calling the branch repeatedly, someone from the outlet told her that it was a ‘nacho cheese handle.’
‘They hung up on me and told me I was lying then offered me a free nachos,’ Eve told The Hudson Valley Post. ‘I found out its the pump of a cheese dispenser.’
The pump could be seen in the now-viral photos, and it’s evident that it became a part of the nachos before the addition of the toppings.
Eve claims his post isn’t fake and says that she ‘waited in the drive through for 45 mins and I’m the only one who got a door-knob.’
‘Those [Taco Bell employees] tried to be funny, I’m convinced,’ she added.
After the incident got viral, a Taco Bell spokesman told The Hudson Valley Post: ‘We take this very seriously.
‘The franchisee that owns and operates this location is looking into this matter and strives to make things right with the customer.’
