A Good Samaritan instantly trusted a homeless man that he gave his bank card and PIN and told him to take out £20 for himself.
The bearded man with a jacket then returned with a receipt and £20. He also gave the card back to the owner.
The heartwarming incident occurred outside Harry’s Bar Restaurant in Newcastle.
The heartwarming video was recorded by Jack Fada as he took a break from his job. He then uploaded it on Facebook, leaving netizens in awe at the other customer’s kindness.
He wrote above the video: “Homeless man goes up to a group of people and asks for money. The bloke gives him his bank card and PIN number and tells him to take 20 quid for himself.
“Don’t dare tell me Newcastle isn’t the greatest place on Earth.”
After he returned with the card and receipt, the two shared a warm handshake and the homeless man walked away.
He then turned around and pointed to the man who trusted him with his bank card. The customer pointed back and the two shared a friendly exchange before the bearded man left.
One Facebook user, Claire Walmsley, commented: “Aw top bloke and even better top bloke for bringing bank card back.”
Loreto Surridge said: “Still some very nice gentlemen. Well done.”
Jack said he recorded the video last year but just decided to share it on social media yesterday.
He explained: “I was working as a builder demolitioning the old Legends nightclub which is downstairs to Harry’s bar.
“I would go outside now and then for fresh air and a cuppa and I see loads of homeless people sleeping and begging, so when I saw what was happening I started to record.
“I’ve worked all over the country and I don’t think anyone is as kind as us Geordies.”
