A furious customer slammed a restaurant for its ‘expensive’ salad that turned out to be only a plate of sliced tomatoes.
Reddit user named Tourist Gandi14 shared a photo of his ‘appetizing’ salad as he was very disappointed when it arrived at their table, writing: “This salad for 6 euros after a long mudflat hiking tour.”
The dissatisfied customer at a restaurant in Germany claims they spent €6 ($7.11) for the salad, and many Reddit users quickly shared their remarks and disbelief at the pricey meal.
“Jeez. Not even a bit if salt and pepper. That’s rough,” one person commented.
“That salad is sadder than my life,” another wrote.
“So it’s just tomato and raw onion? That’s not a salad, that’s just throwing stuff on a plate,” a third added.
“You got ripped off.. this is s***** food for 6 euros,” someone else said.
But other users were less sympathetic, with one saying: “Why order a salad after a long mudflat hiking tour?”
Another commented: “Didn’t you read the menu or ask about it before you ordered it? I don’t know about you, but I read about things before I buy them, especially my food.”
This is not the first time an expensive dish has not lived up to a customer’s expectation.
In 2017, a teen was shocked by what they received at their table when her sister ordered a ‘salad.’
In an interview with Mirror Online, she said: “We were out to dinner as a family. A member of staff came out to greet us and my dad asked if they catered for vegans. The man claimed they did.
“Georgina originally ordered a vegetarian pizza with no cheese but serving staff came out and told us shortly after that it had egg in it and she should look at the salads.
“When it arrived, me and Georgina shared awkward eye contact and I couldn’t help but laugh.”
The teen added: “She is used to eating raw vegetables and she was hungry so she ate it all but asked for a bread roll to accompany it (no butter).”
