A dad from Astley, UK, has lost a whopping three-and-a-half stone in just 16 weeks – by following a simple diet plan.
A few months back, Paul Harrison would spend his evenings sitting on his couch and drinking can after can of lager while watching football.
And as you can guess, Paul’s life was going just downhill. Well, that was until he decided to change things for good.
Fast forward to now, the 41-year-old follows an incredibly simple yet effective diet plan, in addition to following a healthy lifestyle.
He starts his day with veg and steak for breakfast.
Of course, no one can lose 3.5 stone by eating steak at breakfast unless they stay away from crap for the remaining portion of the day.
So, Paul follows his breakfast with veg and lean meat in lunch, and takes a prawn stir fry for tea. The most important thing in his new lifestyle is that he doesn’t even touch fast food or other similar snacks.
Speaking to The Mirror, he said: “I was sick of being a slob. I just used to live on fast food.
“I was always eating on the go – if I was hungry I would pull in at a petrol station and grab a chocolate bar and a bag of crisps to keep me going till I got home.
“I was just snacking all the time, drinking too much, going out a lot.
“If the football was on I would get six cans of lager, for no reason other than the football was on telly. I realized that I had to change.”
Paul says he shunned his old lifestyle as soon as he realized that he ‘had to change.’
“We do a lot of walking now as a family. I try to aim for 15,000 steps a day. You don’t realize that if you lounge round the house at the weekend it can get to 2pm and you will only have done 2,000 steps,” he said.
“So now I make sure we get out on lots of walks. The kids always say they want to play on the Xbox but they aren’t allowed to go on it unless they’ve been on the walk.
“We’ve also bought a dog as well, so that gets us out even more.
“We have spent money on doing our garden up so we don’t need to go out as much to socialize – instead we sit in the garden and have our friends round while the kids play.
“We don’t need to go to the pub any more to socialize and it has saved us money. It has completely changed our lives.”
