When a military daughter surprised her father, the man got so blown away from all the joy and excitement that he fell on the floor.
According to WAGA-TV, Officer Jadiah Mondy, who serves in the Navy, had been stationed at a US base in Japan for the last two years and hadn’t seen her old man for the same duration of time.
At the heartwarming reunion, a happy Jerome was dancing at an event at Divine Faith Ministries International in Georgia.
The man was about to get an even bigger reason to rejoice but, of course, he didn’t know that. So when the officer surprised Jerome, he was so blown away that he fell on the stage.
The reunion was later shared on Facebook by Isaac Mondy, Jadiah’s brother.
Jerome’s heartwarming ordeal was captured on camera by T&T Creative Media, according to Inside Edition.
“We surprised my dad with my sister this morning!” Isaac wrote with the video.
“She’s been in Japan for the past two years and came home a week early. He didn’t even know he was shouting with his kids lol!”
“It was a great surprise,” Jerome later said to Inside Edition. “I grabbed and hugged her. I picked her up. When I did get a chance to talk to her, I said, ‘How you got here?’”
Jadiah had arrived a week earlier than she was scheduled to come and thanks to her unexpected arrival, the moment became a sweet family memory.
Taking to Facebook, Jadiah said surprising her dad was the “best feeling,” adding it was totally “worth it.” The 24-year-old also confessed her love for her father, writing, “I love you daddy!”
Isaac said he “was surprised and didn’t think [his dad] was going to fall for real,” he told Inside Edition.
