When the father of a 2-year-old deaf boy sang a song for him, an unexpected thing happened which broke the man into tears!
Judah Oxendine, from Lumberton, North Carolina, was born at just 23 weeks. He weighed just about 1 pound 8 ounces (680 grams) and had a bleed on his brain. The child was also diagnosed with lung disease, cerebral palsy, and severe hearing impairment due to his premature birth.
However, despite the afflictions, the boy is blessed to have an extremely loving family!
So when his dad, Zach Oxendine, belted out “Boy” by Lee Brice while lovingly holding the little soul in his arms, he got a pleasant surprise from his son.
In the heartwarming footage, Zach can be seen struggling with his emotions as he sings for the child.
But the father is unable to contain himself when little Judah—in spite of hearing impairment—looks up at him with an adorable smile.
Judah’s angelic reaction instantly brings his dad to tears.
“When he looked up at me, it was if he was saying everything was going to be okay this is just a storm in life that will soon pass and we will one day be thankful for it—that’s what I got from that smile and I just couldn’t contain myself,” the father told StoryTrender.
The adorable video is undoubtedly a priceless treasure for Zach.
“It’s just a truly magical moment between me and my son – every time I watch the video back and see his smile, I tear up,” Zach said.
“Ever since the song hit the airwaves, it’s been a song that I can relate to, as it explains the love between a father and his son.
“When I got the news that Judah would be having surgery and having a feeding tube placed in his stomach, I played the song over and over again – I cried, but I then realized how strong he and I are, and that’s what lead me to sing it to him.”
