Kids Health, when a kid is bullied, it’s important for parents to make them feel safe and supported. Kids health advises parents of bullied kids to remind their children that he or she is not alone. It must be emphasized that it’s the bully who is behaving badly, and reassure them that a solution is out there and to explore the options together.
This commercial from American Family Insurance paints a scene that is all too familiar. This commercial doesn’t victimize the bullied by showing us what being bullied is like, but shares with us the powerful story and emotions that come with perceiving and triumphing over the bullies. This commercial became incredibly viral because of the strong message it sends out to empower people!

In the video below, the story starts with a little boy watching a flamenco video. His father comes into the room with a box in his hand. Inside is a Judo uniform.
The boy realized that his dad wanted him to learn the skills to defend himself. You’ll find out why at the end of the video!
So he begins his judo training. His dad, always looking out for him, helping, guiding, and supporting him as the their neighbors continue to bully the little boy.

Thanks to his determination, he is constantly getting better at Judo, earning higher belts, and gains power and confidence. He even wins the Judo tournament and gets a trophy. As he proudly displays his trophy, his father suddenly comes in and gives him something he’s been wishing for.
By the end of the video, we can see how much the boy has grown because of his dad’s support.
