A dog walker noticed the presence of a razor blade in a tennis ball.
The event took place at the Greater Manchester Park on Friday, which was later shared by the owner on a Facebook group named Stockport Crime Watch.
The picture was accompanied by a caption that said that the owner’s dog picked up the ball containing a razor blade in the reeds near Knott car park on the 24th day of May in the evening.
The man also claimed that this notorious act has been done intentionally by someone who has hatred for dogs. The ball was chewed up by his puppy, which is why he discovered the blade inside.
If there exists such a ball, there might be more in their ambiance. Therefore, the police were informed and assigned to the incident. The consequences can be unbearable, claimed the owner.
Many have supported the owner by commenting and sharing his post. A Facebook user said that these kinds of incidents have taken place earlier and that this is not the first time that animals are being targeted at.
Another individual showed his anger by calling the action disgusting. He further added that he has earlier heard of their food being poisoned but this added another level to it. He wishes that whosoever were responsible for the act to be caught.
An optimistic approach towards this post was a comment that thanked the owner for reporting the action and thanked God for keeping his dog safe.
Somebody commented unsurprised by the act. This person was aware of three similar incidents where the dogs required treatments. One of them included his own dog, which had walked on a broken bottle in mud, due to which he went to the vet.
Last, but not the least, another member of the group sent a message that portrayed his anger. He also claimed that his dog is habitual of playing with the balls he finds on his way during the walk. He now had to take care of what it picks up.
The incident is being investigated by the police. However, there has not been an issuing of any official warnings from their side. Until then, it is probably best to keep looking at what your dog picks up while he is on a walk.
