The traditional orange-colored Fanta has been converted to a jet-black appearance to make a remarkable entry this Halloween.
The flavor, named blood orange by the company, was launched for a limited amount of time the last Halloween and it received quite a welcome.
According to a statement by Fanta, the dark edition of their beverage will be available again in half-liter and two-liter packing, starting from September till just after Halloween.
A shopper recently revealed in a Facebook group that the black Fanta is already up for sale at Asda in both half-liter and two-liter packing and can also be bought online at the cost of around $1.5 for the 2l-serving.
Though prices are subject to a little flexibility depending on where you buy the drink from, the manufacturer says that the 500 ml packing will cost around $1.3.
Social media users are actively discussing the launch of this new Fanta flavor, with one user writing: “Curious also! Is it like an orange flavor cola? Because black Fanta is weirdddddd.”
Another said: “This must be so bad for you but I want it.”
The drinks, colas to be specific, get their black color from an ingredient called vegetable carbon. It is a natural food color widely used in making food products.
If you happen to be a diet conscious person, you have to note that this edition of Fanta will have around 11g of sugar and 48 calories per 250 ml serving.
On the other hand, the standard Fanta has 10g of sugar and around the same calories.
Dee Woolcott, an employee at Fanta Great Britain, said: “Halloween is a huge moment in the year and to celebrate, we wanted to launch a new, fun version of Fanta that is delicious, but with a scary twist.
“So, the only question is – dare you taste the dark?”
