The spread of COVID-19 throughout the world is going to affect a large number of people economically.
In the US, there is a high chance of people losing their jobs or suffering a lot of loss in their businesses.
So to play their role in helping people through these perilous times, Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard have decided not to collect rents for April from the tenants in their buildings.
Kristen Bell, 39, from The Good Place and 45-year-old Dax Shepard from Bless This Mess own a number of estates across Los Angeles.
According to PEOPLE, it has been confirmed that the couple will not be collecting rent payments for the month of April. They believe that this might help people a bit in tackling these desperate times.
A sizable portion of the 40 million population of California is at risk of facing a loss of income because of the indefinite “stay at home” order issued by the Governor.
People are bound to remain in their houses and can only leave in case of absolute needs.
The story was first reported by TMZ and they’ve confirmed that the tenants have been informed about this act of kindness via email or via message conducted by Shepard’s sister who manages the rental operations of the properties owned by Shepard and his wife.
As of now, 167 million American nationals are forced to remain in their houses.
The situation has left a number of people without any sort of income. It will, intrinsically, make it difficult for millions of people to pay their house rents.
California is the first US state where a “stay at home” order has been issued.
“CA is issuing a statewide, mandatory STAY AT HOME order. Those that work in critical sectors should go to work,” California Governor Mr. Newsom tweeted last Thursday.
“We need to meet this moment and flatten the curve together.”
