Deformed Chihuahua Receives A Second Chance At Life After A Kindhearted Woman Showered Her With Love

The fact that many animals across the world are abandoned due to some qualities they may possess is just heartbreaking.

Some owners just don’t have the time and patience to take care of dogs with deformities, and in some cases, those helpless pooches are left behind, wondering if they will ever experience love.

In the US, over 6 million abandoned, unwanted or lost cats and dogs enter animal shelters every year.

One of the kindhearted people who make time for these beautiful animals is Angela Adan.

An advocate from Tehachapi, California, Angela saves many animals a year and she loves her work. She also gets very emotional when rescuing strays as years of abuse and pain are evident in animals’ eyes.

One deformed puppy recently brought her to tears.

The little chihuahua she picked up after driving for four hours was incredibly misshapen. She knew right away that the dog was abandoned due to her multiple deformities.

The pooch had extra teeth that made it difficult to close and open her mouth and bulging eyes that protruded from her head. Walking is also almost impossible as the little dog had splayed front feet jutting from either side of her ribcage.

While Angela was taking care of the dog, the pooch lifted her head and gave her small licks to her cheeks. She knew right then that the Chihuahua was thanking her for showing kindness, and tears flowed down her cheeks.

Realizing that sending the pooch with many health problems to a shelter could mean it would never be adopted, Angela decided to adopt her.

She named the loving chihuahua Freddie Mercury and she has been catching up on all the care and love she never experienced.

“People often ask me how do I do it?” Angela said.

“How can you foster a special needs dog knowing she could pass away at any day? The answer is simple, dogs teach me to just have fun and to be in the moment.

“I do my best to just enjoy this time right here, right now, and not worry about what happened yesterday or what will happen tomorrow. Life is short, take breaks when you need it and just enjoy the moment you have right this second.”
