On a Delta flight last night, passengers had tackled an individual who tried to break into the cockpit mid-air, screaming to “stop this plane”!

The flight had originated from Los Angeles and was on its way to Nashville. The man had been restrained by flight attendant Christopher Williams with the help of other passengers on the flight.

One passenger had caught footage of the incident, showing Williams wrestling with the man whose identity is not yet revealed. Another angle shows Williams putting the man’s hands behind his back to restrict his movement with zip-ties.

One video catches the man screaming at the top of his lungs, “stop this plane”! as he tries to break into the cockpit. At the end of the incident, there is a picture that has revealed Williams burying his head into his hands after the stressful incident.

Twitter user @NoKapRich quotes the photo and captions it: “This man needs an award. Just saved the plane.”

The man had been arrested by airport police when the flight landed and luckily, nobody had been injured during the accident. Those who were on the flight had spent five hours at Albuquerque International Sunport before a new flight took them in and flew them to Nashville.

Delta says in a public statement that the passenger was “not successful. The plane landed safely and the passenger was removed by police and the FBI. He is in custody now.”

The FBI had tweeted that there was no threat to the public. There was an incident similar to this one where an “abusive” JetBlue passenger was fined $10,500 after refusing to wear a mask, coughing and blowing his nose into a blanket.

There was another incident that involved a passenger that had been disruptive, being charged $9,000. He had yelled and slammed on the overhead bins, throwing profanities at the cabin crew while harassing a flight attendant for the period of the flight.

In light of the current event, the press has released information that the FAA has received around 2,5000 reports of unruly behavior, such as this man, since January of 2021. This has not been the first time passengers have been this unruly on airplane flights.
