A USPS deliveryman was caught on camera dragging a package through the mud and kicking it before throwing the damaged goods onto the porch.
The incident involving the unidentified mailman came to light after a man named Nick Verzilli recorded the worker as he was shoving the package containing computer parts he ordered.
According to Verzilli, the package weighed around 40 pounds of electronic goods whereas it was properly classified as “heavy.”
Along with the video, the man also posted photos of the damaged shipment which is seen bearing drag marks and ripped in several areas.
“He’s been confronted many times before.
I can’t change him.
I’d rather be smart about the situation, stay clear and let him do his thing, then take care of it through the proper channels,” the man shared, claiming that this wasn’t the first time the mailman in question was caught mistreating his package. As Verzilli said, the deliveryman was previously confronted both by him and his neighbors but nothing changed for the better.
He also claimed that the disrespectful worker was “one of the reasons I got the front porch camera in the first place.”
After internet users suggested that the mailman might have not been able to lift the package, Verzilli dismissed them all and wrote:
“He knows what he’s doing, he knows he’s being filmed from the front yard cameras … I’m not going to confront him again, it’s like putting a kid in time-out for the same misbehavior over and over again. It’s obviously not getting through.”
As the man added, he has already filed official complaints with the USPS and received a personal response from the Office of the Inspector General. According to the reply, the issue was “being escalated” at the office.
