Demi Lovato Is Labeled As “Stupid” For Criticizing A Shop’s Sugar-Free Options Catered Towards Diabetics, Bashing Them And Calling Them “Harmful”


Last Saturday, the pop celebrity has been slammed for her own criticism on The Bigg Chill, an LA based frozen yogurt shop, for their excessive use of diet-geared inventory.

She tells her fanbase through her social media platform, Instagram, that the store has “triggering” options, yet the support backfired on her.

On Twitter, the attack she made was “stupid,” since the sugar-free options that are given are essential to customers that are struggling with diabetes.

She tells the general public that she is “finding it extremely hard to order froyo from [The Bigg Chill] when you have to walk past tons of sugar-free cookies/other diet foods before you get to the counter,” adding a hashtag at the end that says “Do Better.”

Lovato was accusing the shop for having “harmful messaging from brands or companies that perpetuate a society that not only enables but praises disordered eating.” In which the establishment responds through a direct message online.

The star continuously is getting slammed by others, with comments such as “Shop says they carry food for diabetics, celiac disease and vegan… Demi Lovato brainstorming how she can victimize herself with a frozen yogurt company…”

There are more comments that are posted on the Internet, criticizing the star for even trying to start “beef” with a frozen yogurt shop in LA. Recently, she’s opened up her struggles with eating disorders, including the treatment she had to deal with when she was 18.

The Bigg Chill responds to Lovato’s story via DM, telling her that “We are not diet vultures. We cater to all of our customers needs for the past 36 years. We are sorry you found this offensive.”

The celebrity tells CBS Sunday Morning that her overdose back in 2018 was linked to her ongoing eating disorder behavior and she “didn’t control any of my life at that period of time.”
