Brazilian dentist Felipe Rossi has founded an NGO named Por1sorriso with the aim to help people with low income get new teeth.
Rossi, 38, practices aesthetic dentistry. Back in 2016, he laid the foundation of Por1sorriso NGO, assuming the role of director fundraising himself.
The dedicated and devoted doctor wanted to extend the positive influence of his abilities beyond his family, community and even nation. The man wanted to be beneficial for anybody who needed his expertise.
So far, he has worked in Brazil, Kenya, Mozambique and a number of other locations to help low-income people get the necessary dental services they need.
Rossi wants to extend his help to the people who cannot get help due to economic restrictions or don’t have the resources needed for the dental procedures necessary for them.
“This assistance is very different from projects where people simply get toothbrushes and toothpaste,” Rossi wrote on his Instagram.
As reported by R7, the NGO has more than 4,000 registered volunteers but that does not mean things can progress smooth.
Rossi explained the difficulties faced by the NGO, saying: “There are costs that people have to bear and, with that, many people end up giving up on the action.”
He also said that one of the major challenges they face is the transportation of around two tons of equipment that is needed for dental procedures.
Rossi and his colleagues are a practical illustration of the adage, ‘Everyone can be a superhero regardless of their profession.’
Efforts of the dedicated dentist have brought back the smiles of a number of people around the globe.
Looking at some of the pictures of his patients, you can very easily tell how much of a difference this man has created in the lives of the poor people. He has returned them not only their smile but also their self-confidence, creating a massive difference in their lives.
