Celebrity shoe designer Taryn Rose donates 5000 pairs of comfortable classic black pumps to women who can’t afford shoes.
Taryn fled from North Vietnam to the South during the Vietnam War. She had to flee again when the South fell and traveled to the U.S., Arkansas where they lived in a refugee camp.
Taryn’s dad, who was a doctor, started calling local physicians from a camp payphone and finally, a local family took them in.
Taryn went on to become an orthopedic surgeon. Taryn, who always wanted to make shoes, said: “I wanted to make shoes that would make women feel good and look good at the same time!”
She started the Taryn Rose Footwear Company in her California garage to create shoes that were fashionable yet comfortable.
Recently, she paired up with “Delivering Good”, a non-profit that redistributes excess inventory from the fashion industry and started donating 5,000 pairs of her comfortable classic black pumps to women who can’t afford shoes.
Taryn told Footwear News: “I think it has always been [important].point 270 |

“What is great now is, being with Global Brands, a wonderful organization, we have the resources to be able to give away 5,000 pairs of shoes. As a smaller company, it wasn’t possible. I’m happy to have their support and together we can give back to women. We can get them back on their feet by taking care of their feet.”
Tyran is truly an inspiration for women out there. She never gave up, created a shoe company and now, she is helping other women as she is donating thousands of free shoes.
