In August 2017, the 20th anniversary of Princess Diana’s death, the two princely brothers William and Harry toured the white garden at Kensington, organized to commemorate their mother.
The garden was the princess’s favorite place to be in the whole palace grounds. It was here that there came talks of having Diana’s statue built to keep her in the memories forever. It has been three years since, and yet no word as of how specific about the sculpting process. The reason the brothers haven’t been able to decide what they actually would agree on. William is notably ‘exasperated’ by Harry, notwithstanding the impetuous behavior Harry has shown by divorcing with his royal public duties, and how he has touted the ‘burden’ of it all on live television and whatnot.
Harry has his words to say, however, as he has officially proclaimed disappointment to his very own family, saying he felt ‘abandoned’ by the rest of his family.
A deadlocked committee took an unnecessary period of five years to reach an agreement on the design of a £3.
6million water feature in Hyde Park to express Diana’s ‘spirit and love of children’. The design was turned out faulty and unsafe a few days later after its opening ceremony. It seems quite a lot of things are in deadlock in the family right now.
William did mention that the expected statue that the public is waiting for will be coming ‘soon, very soon’ back in last July outside Kensington Palace.
Last week, a Palace source confirmed that the brothers have now settled upon a design and that ‘ground work’ has finally begun.
‘This is not a short-term project,’ said the source. ‘This is a statue that will last for ever and the dukes want to ensure that this enduring monument is completely right.’
The expected date for the inception and the foundation for Diana’s statue should be coming closer to the 25th anniversary than 20th of Diana’s death.
One should hope that in light of these circumstances that there should be a reconciliation effort from both members of this royal feud than to just slander the images and memories that Princess Diana has left over the world.
Besides, it would be very tragic to build a statue of a mother who has her sons divided in front of her edifice of memories.Replaced!
