In our childhood, we try anything possible to avoid taking a nap, driving our parents crazy.
But, when we become adults, we try anything possible to take naps!
A good sleep gives us a boost of energy that allows us to continue our day with a refreshed mind and body, especially when taken between 1 pm and 4 pm. However, the duration and reasons for a nap make all the difference. Science shows us the connection between different types of napping and their effects.
Here are some different types of naps in terms of trigger reasons.
1. Planned or preparatory napping
This type of nap you decide to take when you feel tired to save energy. If you need to be awake for long hours in the night, you can benefit from a nap during the daytime.
2. Emergency napping
When you feel like closing your eyes, it means you need an emergency nap. When your body gets exhausted so you can shut your eyes and take rest. For example, when you feel it coming while driving, you should pull over in a safe place and nap for a while.
3. Habitual napping
This type of nap is mostly common among children and they took every day at a certain time. But adults can try it as well. When you become habitual of taking these types of naps, your body may require sleep at a designated time so you need to be prepared.
Whatever your reason is, the key to a healthy lifestyle is having a good sleep at night. Remember to go to bed early and get plenty of rest to start the next day fresh! And when more sleep is needed, don’t forget to take a nap!
