A customer has criticized a restaurant at Heathrow Airport for serving up a ‘pathetic’ ham and cheese toastie.
Hannah Bennett got shocked when she saw a very small meal she was served. Do you know what makes it worse? the cost of the toastie was £8.25($10).
We all know that food or drinks at the airport is always expensive, you’d hope that you’re getting a little bang for your buck.
Hannah uploaded a picture of her meal to Rate My Plate. And, it was criticized, mocked and laughed by many people.
She added a caption, which said: “Pathetic excuse for a meal. Not personally sure what the stick is doing as it’s not structural.”
One social media user said: “Oh wow. I wouldn’t even embarrass myself by serving that! Shame on them. I hope you got a refund.”
Another added: “Daylight robbery. Gatwick’s not far off the same either.”
A third said: “You’d get more for your money even on a Ryanair flight. That’s a disgrace, to be honest.”
A spokesperson from The Restaurant Group, which owns the pub, said: ‘We are disappointed to hear that certain customers were not satisfied with their experience in one of our sites. We pride ourselves on value, quality, and experience across our portfolio and so we will be looking into these specific comments.”
But, this is not as bad as the salad given to a customer who requested a vegan meal in Fuengirola, on the Costa del Sol.
Leeds teenager Gabbie Jarvis, 17, was shocked by what she saw at the table when her vegan sister Georgina, 19, ordered a ‘salad’ and took to Twitter to vent her confusion.
She told Mirror Online: “We were out to dinner as a family. A member of staff came out to greet us and my dad asked if they catered for vegans. The man claimed they did.
“Georgina originally ordered a vegetarian pizza with no cheese but serving staff came out and told us shortly after that it had egg in it and she should look at the salads.
“When it arrived, I and Georgina shared awkward eye contact and I couldn’t help but laugh.”
While there’s no denying that the plate of food delivered to Georgina was most definitely vegan, it wasn’t exactly Michelin star quality. Maybe the restaurant needs a cheeky refresh on vegan meals.
