The world’s most powerful brands owned by French luxury conglomerate LVMH are turning the focus from making perfume to hand sanitizer manufacturing as a coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to spread throughout Europe.
LVMH announced on Sunday that manufacturing perfumes and cosmetics for its well-known brands, including Christian Dior, Givenchy, and Guerlain, the company will now produce large quantities of hand sanitizer starting on Monday.
“Through this initiative, LVMH intends to help address the risk of a lack of product in France and enable a greater number of people to continue to take the right action to protect themselves from the spread of the virus,” the company said in a press release, according to CNN.
LVMH that is headquartered in Paris, said gels will be delivered to health officials and the European hospital system, Assistance Publique-Hospitaux de Paris, “free of charge.”
The corporation said, that it will “continue to deliver this commitment for as long as required, in connection with the French health authorities.”
